OFNY leaves the formal confines of the opera house for the intimate setting of Le Skyroom, with Offenbach Cabaret, a saucy musical review. Welcome to the show, where a shady promoter hopes to dupe three unsuspecting New Yorkers with the tale of Jacques Offenbach’s surprise visit to New York City! An evening of song, dance and theatrics ensues through Offenbach’s titillating music. To convince his victims of the composer’s impending journey, the promoter reads Offenbach’s letters from him original tour of New York in the late 19th century and entices them with selections from his greatest operas. Enjoy a glass of wine while the drama and music unfold around you for a surprising evening of hijinx and parody in this collaboration with the French Institute Alliance Française.
